Applet Guidelines for “Fourier Synthesis Game Applet”

Click here to launch the applet.

Add different Fourier components to the wave and see what it looks like. You can adjust the sound controls to hear what the wave sounds like. Here the Fourier component A1 is the fundamental, and A2, A3, etc. are the harmonics (A1 is 440Hz, A2 is 880, A3 = 440 * 3 etc).

You can click on the second tab marked "wave game" to play a game similar to the one we did in class. Here you are guessing what amounts of each Fourier component make up the pink wave. Move the sliders under each Fourier component to adjust how much gets added to the total wave.
